Prostate Cancer

• Prostate cancer is the number one occurring cancer in men. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in men.
• Prostate cancer is usually slow growing, and can start in men as young as in their forties.
• The diagnosis of prostate cancer is usually made following the discovery of an elevated PSA (prostate specific antigen) level. PSA checks are recommended yearly in all men over the age of 50 and in all men with an increased risk of prostate cancer in men over the age of 40.
• Bay Area Urology Associates, P.C., is equipped to handle the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer in all stages.

Kidney Stones

• Kidney stones form for many reasons. Middle aged men are more likely to form stones than other people, but can form in anyone.
• Many stones cause sudden and severe pain, bloody urine, fever, nausea and frequent or burning urination.
• Treatment of stones varies on the size and location of the stone.
• Bay Area Urology Associates, P.C. is equipped to handle the diagnosis and treatment of kidney stones.

Vasectomies

• A vasectomy is a safe, simple, and effective surgical procedure that makes a man sterile.
• The procedure is done right here in our office under a local anesthetic. Most are done in as few as 30 minutes.
• We offer both scalpel and non-scalpel vasectomies
• Most insurances will pay for a vasectomy to be done. Be sure to check with your policy to find out or call our office with questions.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

• Up to half of men over age 40 experience ED at some point.
• A complex chain of problems can cause this dysfunction. It can be easily resolved in most cases. We are happy to find a resolution for you.
